Description:
Students will learn the basics of needle-felting while creating a small picture of a poppy. The finished piece will be about 8"x11". Emphasis will be on blending fiber colors to achieve a 'painted' appearance. Dyed alpaca fiber will be needle felted onto pre-felted quilt batting. There will be an option of different colored poppies.

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wet Felting in a Bag - Free with $5 materials fee. Donations welcome.

Description: Retired elementary school teacher and shepherd, Margo Hanson, will teach youngsters of all ages the basics of wet felting. Using items found around the house and wool roving, kids as young as five can successfully make small felted mats, using this method. These fun felted squares can be used as pot holders, coasters, or enjoyed as is. A plastic bag keeps the felting mess to a minimum and fulling is accomplished by rolling, stomping, and tossing the mat about. Costs for this fun activity are kept to a minimum so several family members can participate.
